Text
- In nomine Domini nostri Iesu Christi salvatoris mundi.

- In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world. Those things that are advantageously defined in accordance with the canonical decrees and synodal statutes, although speech alone should suffice as evidence, yet on account of the uncertain nature of future times, should be more firmly validated by a written document and chirographs of warranty. Wherefore I, Swæfred, king of the East Saxons, with the Grace of God and the counsel of my bishops and agreement of our principes and witan, in the hope of eternal reward and also for the expiation of our sins and for the love of Almighty God [grant] to Ingwald, bishop of London, a certain portion of land, from my property, of 70 hides in the district that is called Deningei, etc.
